All emergencies during our normal opening hours will be seen and treated by us at The Vet Whetstone. On some occasions we may need to refer your pet for specialist treatment.

However, during our closing times, your call will be diverted to the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at Hawkshead Lane, North Mymms Herts. AL9 7TA.

The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals is one of the largest and most advanced veterinary hospitals in the world.

The hospital is a purpose-built facility just north of the M25 and near Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. This makes it within easy reach of London, the home counties and East Anglia.

Teaching Hospital

As a not-for-profit teaching hospital, RVC clinicians have access to the latest clinical data and advanced equipment. Specialist Veterinary Team

The RVC small animal referral hospital is a multidisciplinary service supported around the clock 365 days a year by the largest team of veterinary specialists in Europe allowing each patient to be given the care it needs.

Their specialist vets have undergone rigorous advanced training and passed specialist examinations in their chosen field. Many of their specialist vets are international experts in their field, producing advances which are shaping the future of veterinary medicine.

Veterinary Nurses

The RVC have a team of more than 100 registered veterinary nurses who are key members of the multidisciplinary team. Many have enhanced professional qualifications in the specialised areas of the hospital they work in, ensuring delivery of the highest standards of patient care and veterinary training.
